With just your party, sailing on Starlight is like sailing on your own private yacht.  Bring your sense of adventure and enjoy the spectacular setting as we sail through Newport Harbor, into Narragansett Bay and along the shoreline of Newport's Ocean Drive.  The views are stunning: beautiful seaside estates, forts, lighthouses, islands and world famous yachts. 

Although we don't follow a fixed route and the wind and tide vary daily, on each sail you will see Fort Adams, the largest, best preserved fort on the East Coast, Hammersmith Farm, the summer Whitehouse of JFK and Clingstone, a one of a kind house perched on rocks.  Often we'll sail through Brenton's Cove and its spectauclar seaside estates.  Newport has one of the prettiest harbors in the world and offers some of the best sailing conditions in the U.S.!

Starlight is an O'Day 34, one of the most popular cruising boats built.  She is comfortable, fun to sail and well equipped.  Her hull design, combined with stern perch seats, a comfortable, cushioned cockpit, cozy cabin and ample deck space make her the perfect size and design for sailing around Newport.  There is a clean head (bathroom), cooler for drinks, all necessary safety gear and blankets to keep you warm on cool evenings.

Captain Ed Early returns for his eighth year captaining Starlight.  Ed has been sailing for 30 plus years, is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain, boat builder, former instructor at Offshore Sailing School, world traveler and extremely good tennis player.  If you're interested, he can talk a blue streak about virtually anything!  Most importantly, Ed is extremely knowledgeable about Newport, a competent professional and will show you a great time on the water!   

Starlight is conveniently located dockside at Bowen's Wharf.  Step on/ step off via a fixed, sturdy, seawall ladder.  No wasting time waiting for the launch or wet dinghy ride to the boat required.  Casual and elegant restautants/bars located at departure point.  Great for waiting or relaxing at upon return.

Note: 
Boarding and disembarking Starlight is done by taking 2-3 steps up and down a sturdy ladder, permanently attached to the seawall.  Guests need to be able to lift their leg about 16-20" over the boat's lifelines and  hold on to the ladder to get on and off the boat.  Most people do not have a problem, however if you have balance issues, are recovering from knee or hip surgery, are shaky or unsteady,  we recommend you consider a sail on Aquidneck which is our most stable vessel with standard stair and handrail boarding.

Private two hour sail: $270.00.  Private four hour sail: $495.00. 

Although never expected, a  gratuity for the captain of around 15% is always appreciated.
