Reservations & Ticket InformationTo make Reservations & Buy Tickets for any of our Public Day and Sunset sails on Aquidneck and Sightsailer:Reservations for our scheduled public day and sunset sails on Aquidneck and Sightsailer may be made by calling 1.800.709.7245. You will be asked to specify your preferred boat and departure time, number in your party, telephone number and credit card number. Your card will not be charged until your sail departs; it's only used to hold your tickets. If you need to cancel, you must do so at least 48 hours before your sail is scheduled to depart or your card will automatically be charged.
Checking in & Picking up Tickets: If you would like to use your credit card to complete your transaction, please bring it with you when picking up your tickets. You may also pay in cash or Travelers checks. Please be on time. If you're late for a sail we will be unable to make up the time since we have a schedule to keep with other sails and charters. For daily sails and private charters, we recommend checking in at our desk at least 15 minutes prior to departure. Be aware that weekends in Newport can be very busy and crowded. Allow yourself and any other members of your party plenty of time to park and get to the boat. If you are late and miss the boat, there is no refund! Cancellations for public ticketed day and sunset sails on Aquidneck & Sightsailer: You may cancel a reservation for a public day or sunset sail on Aquidneck or Sightsailer at any time up to 48 hours prior to departure. Once inside the 48 hour departure time, your reservation automatically converts to tickets for the number in your party. Inside the 48 hour departure time, tickets are refundable or transferable to another time only in the event that we cancel the sail. Sorry, but people who make reservations and are no shows will have their credit cards charged the full amount. Think of this as like buying tickets for a specific time at the theater. If you do not show once you have purchased your tickets, you will not be refunded. Private Charter:To Arrange a Private Charter on Sightsailer or Starlight: For private charters on Sightsailer and Starlight, please call our reservation office at 800.709.7245. To arrange a Private Charter on Schooner Aquidneck:Please call John Hirschler at Sightsailing/Schooner Aquidneck at 401.862.4718. Cancellations on Schooner Aquidneck:14 days notice. Details on charter contract. Call John Hirschler at 401.862.4718. Cancellations for Private Charters on Sightsailer & Starlight:Minimum 48 hour cancellation notice by phone must be given. A Word on the Weather & Weather Cancellations: We want you to enjoy your sail so in the event of heavy rain, thick fog or if threatening weather appears imminent we will cancel. However, we will sail if it’s merely overcast, on and off sprinkles or a bit foggy. We have Doppler radar available in real time at our dock to make last-minute decisions. There is an old saying in New England that "if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute it will change." Some days it may be pouring in the morning only to be beautiful in the afternoon. As a result, a decision to cancel a sail due to weather is usually only made by us just before a sail is scheduled to depart. Keep in mind that if you buy a ticket for one of our sunset sails we unfortunately cannot assure you of a glorious sunset and we will not cancel simply because it's cloudy! Again, if you have made a reservation for a sail and have not cancelled at least 48 hours before a sail and do not show, your card will be charged. Gift Certificates: Gift certificates may be purchased for any of our sails. Let us know which boat you would like and how many people it’s for and we'll send you a gift certificate and several brochures. You may also purchase gift certificates in person at our dockside office. Recipients call to choose a date and time for their sail. Gift certificates may be purchased with cash or credit card between May and October. In the offseason, certificates my be purchased by mailing us a check at the address listed in our Contact section. |
